guitartec started about 10 years ago when I fitted a new soundboard to Annmaries guitar, the result was great and I wanted to do more.
As I had only fitted one soundboard I new I didnt have the skills to build a guitar useing expensive woods. I started looking for ideas and found someone selling Maple floor boards. I started by having then sliced by my local joiner, I then glued them side by side which gave me the back and front, and the other pieces were used for the side, I also made a Maple neck and fret board, which had to be replaced at a later date.
It was while I was making this my main interest became intonation, this guitar has perfect intonation and is probably the reason Neil a Classical guitarist makes it sound so good, see Neil below playing my guitar made from floor boards.
I have continued with the recycling idea by using second hand guitars and fitting my pickups, one of the reasons for this is not very many guitars are fitted with P90's so the body has to be routed.
And that was the start of a journey I am still enjoying.
